In this trade, Madrid is the venue
A restaurant in Malasaña, Las Rozas or Collado Villalba is not photographed like a catalogue plate. The light in the room, the crockery and the noise of service are the location. That is why we do not send the food to a studio: we go. The base is Plaza Los Belgas, in Collado Villalba, and we also work in Malasaña and across the rest of the Community of Madrid.
“In Madrid” does not mean a list of names. It means someone who arrives between services, understands that a kitchen cannot stop for a whole afternoon without warning, and delivers files that work on the venue’s Google listing, not only in a portfolio.
What to check before you write to anyone
See whether the sample photos were made in real restaurants, with people and a table, or on plain backgrounds. See whether the photographer asks about the neighbourhood and the kind of menu. A shoot designed for a coastal hotel does not prove they can walk into a neighbourhood dining room on a Tuesday.
Check the licence. You will need the photos on the website, on Google Business, on the menu and, almost certainly, in ads. Someone who only grants “social use” leaves the file half-finished. Ask for a deadline too: an opening cannot wait three weeks of opaque retouching.
- A report in a venue like yours, not only loose plates.
- Availability between services or before opening.
- Travel to your neighbourhood inside the Community of Madrid.
- Files for menu, web, Google and social in the same delivery.
- A name and a phone number, not a ten-step form.
How to book it with tuinsta.design
You write on WhatsApp, describe the venue and send the menu or four dishes that cannot be missing. Cristina sets the order of the day with the kitchen. We photograph on site: a plate just plated, the room and, if you want it, the team. Carlota gets that material ready to publish, so the session does not end on a hard drive.
We have done this work in Madrid houses such as Botequim, Volver and Rifugio. This is not a directory of other studios. If the job is yours, the next step is to talk about yours, not to compare ten generic portfolios.
When you do not need to search in the centre
If your venue is in the sierra, in the south or on an industrial estate, a “centre” photographer who will not travel forces you to move the food. That changes the plate. We prefer the short trip and the photo where people eat. Remote work is for the website and for social after the visit, not a substitute for the photo day.
If what you need is only a portrait of packaged product, with no room, say so in the first message: that is a different job, and there is no point selling you a restaurant report. For a dining room, the answer stays the same: you hire the person who comes to the venue.
Neighbourhoods and the real radius
The job does not change in kind between Malasaña, Chamberí, Las Rozas, Majadahonda, Torrelodones, Getafe or Collado Villalba. What changes is the hour you can get in and the light in that room. That is why we do not mint a different page per town with the same text and another name: we go to the venue you name and the session is that house’s.
If the restaurant is outside the Community of Madrid, say so in the first message. Sometimes the work afterwards — site and social — can be remote, and the photography cannot. Folding both into a “we cover all of Spain” is exactly how nobody shows up on Tuesday between services. We prefer the early no.
The way to hire us is not a directory and not a list of other names. It is a WhatsApp to Cristina with the venue’s address. If we cannot do that day, we say so. If we can, the hour is set with the kitchen before anyone talks about styles.
