How do you avoid a look that dates within two years?

You avoid it by tying the mark to the venue's material and to a type that reads, not to the effect every feed is using this year. A trend look dates; the door is not changed every spring. A season's gradient and lettering are chosen, and two years later the sign looks like an old fair poster. Remaking it is building work, not a post. The master has no seasonal effect, and the sheet separates what is fixed (mark, colour, type) from what may change in a story. The fixed part is not redrawn out of boredom.
