Why you get likes but almost no bookings

Feed applause doesn’t pay wages. Without a bridge to the booking, a like is noise.

Why you get likes but almost no bookings

It’s the most repeated complaint in hospitality and local services: the post does well and the venue doesn’t. There are usually three causes: an audience far from your area, content with no CTA, or a slow reply when someone writes. The algorithm doesn’t owe you a table.

Check where your followers are. If you grew on national trends, you have fans 400 km away. Social media management for local businesses should prioritise nearby reach — neighbourhood collabs, real geotags, area creatives.

Every piece needs an exit: an updated link in bio, a message sticker, a tappable phone number, a booking path. Without an exit, the like is the end of the funnel — a funnel you didn’t want.

A clear offer. “Good vibes” doesn’t convert. Kitchen hours, ballpark spend, speciality, how to get there. People book when uncertainty drops.

Add paid capture when search demand already exists. Sometimes the feed entertains people who already know you and Google Ads brings whoever is deciding today. They aren’t substitutes; they coordinate.

Change the report. If your agency only celebrates engagement, ask for attributed covers, appointments or orders. If they can’t talk about that, the incentive is wrong.

You can reorient without deleting the account. We adjust tone, CTAs and calendar toward the business — and leave the likes contest to whoever lives on that.
