Food photography that sells the real plate
The plate photo is part of the menu. If it lies, the review says so; if it clarifies, people book.

Anyone looking where to eat in Madrid decides in seconds. Food photography isn’t feed decoration: it’s a sales argument. A well-shot plate reduces doubt; a misleading one moves that doubt to the table and to Google.
Honesty first. Light that respects real colour, plating from the pass — not a three-hour set — and venue context when it helps. A useful food photographer understands the kitchen and floor timing, not only the “magazine” angle.
At Botequim the session was in the venue, at the pace of service: plates and room, not a studio set. That bank feeds the digital menu and the feed, in the same light the guest finds at the table.
Define uses before you shoot. Digital menu? Stories? Ads? Google Business? Each format wants a different frame. A gastronomic photography reportage with a clear brief earns for months; one without a brief dies in a forgotten Drive.
Fewer dishes, better ones. Prioritise signatures, high rotation and margin. Photographing the entire menu in one day usually lowers quality and exhausts the team. Better waves by season.
Short video of the pass or the cut adds appetite where the still no longer surprises. Food photography and video work together: the still for the menu and the clip for Meta and Instagram.
In the sierra, with terrace light and weekend menus, the shoot must hold two audiences: regular neighbour and visitor comparing three options before parking. Room plus plate often beats macro detail alone.
If your current photos are staff-phone shots with a different filter every week, branding dilutes. A coherent bank is the base of social media management and any campaign.
When you want the plate to sell before anyone sits down, we talk brief, kitchen date and deliverables — without an unnecessary casting call.
A useful shoot is a working bank. A vanity shoot is a Drive nobody opens.
Hiring posting without assets is renting a loudspeaker with nothing to say.
The menu is the venue’s first salesperson. If it confuses people, they order the safe option — or leave.
